Tragic Update on Cargo Plane Accident: Death Toll Rises to 13

The total count of lives lost resulting from the transport jet which burst into flames and plummeted has now risen to 13, according to recent statements.

Mayor's Announcement

“On my way to the Teamsters’ memorial service, I was informed of a 13th person that died as a consequence of the aircraft accident,” stated the local official in a social media post. “My heart are with the families, companions and co-workers of all who were taken in this recent disaster. We will overcome this together.”

Victims Confirmed

A release from the carrier identified the officers operating the jet as Captain Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt, and Relief Captain Dana Diamond.

“Our thoughts reach out to each employee who has been impacted and everyone in our local community – supporting you and guaranteeing you receive the support and assistance you need is our focus,” the company’s communication expressed.

Investigation Updates

National officials announced that the UPS cargo plane’s port side wing burst into flames and an power plant separated just after departure from the airfield, resulting in the aircraft to crash and erupt into a fireball.

The NTSB announced it is probing the aircraft’s service record, that was in Texas for repairs several weeks ahead of the crash.

Aircraft records revealed the jet was on the tarmac in San Antonio, Texas from the start of last month to last week.

“We are aware that this plane was present in that city,” said an official on the following day, not giving a precise time frame. “We will review each aspect of maintenance that was done, even the Texas visit, all the way to the date of the trip.”

Retrieval of Vital Items

The cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder were retrieved, and the motor was located on the tarmac.

The devices – referred to as flight recorders – were constructed to withstand accident forces and severe fire from fires, and they appeared to be intact when discovered within the remains. Investigators plan on examining information from the recorders.

Jet’s concluding data recordings indicated an elevation of 475 feet and a speed of that speed prior to the accident.

Service Record

Per aviation authority files dated 18 September, a crack on a component inside the tank area required maintenance.

The company ST Engineering, which indicated it provides aircraft servicing for the carrier’s aircraft and manages a service location in Texas, declined to comment, but stated it would work closely when investigators contacted it.

Services Resume

At the same time, the facility activities resumed that evening with its express or night sort operation, representative the company official confirmed. The three runways at Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport were also reopened.

The UPS package handling facility in the city is the firm’s largest. The center engages more than 20,000 people in the locality, handles three hundred trips daily and sorts in excess of a huge volume of packages an hour.

Community Response

A gathering was conducted on the late afternoon of that date by the regional worker’s group, which represents workers at the airfield, the organization’s biggest freight center.

Worker representatives, which stands for staff, began the memorial with a period of reflection at 5.14pm, the approximate time of the accident two days earlier.

“This tragedy was so sudden, so surprising,” the mayor addressed the assembly of attendees. “No one had a opportunity to part to each of those who we have said farewell to.”
